What Is PMB 50/90-55 Bitumen?

PMB 50/90-55 is a polymer-modified bitumen with a softer penetration range of 50–90 (0.1mm units) and a 55°C softening point, giving it greater flexibility than harder PMB grades. The polymer modification improves ductility and fatigue resistance under repeated traffic loading.

This grade is well suited to urban roads and highways carrying medium to heavy traffic, where elasticity and crack resistance matter more than maximum stiffness, particularly in moderate-temperature conditions.
