Graded for 70°C heat and −22°C cold

PG 70-22 is a performance-graded (PG) asphalt binder. The first number is the high pavement temperature in °C where it resists rutting, and the second is the lowest temperature in °C where it resists thermal cracking.

At 70°C it suits hot climates and heavy traffic, and at −22°C it suits regions with cool to cold winters. It can usually be met with straight-run or lightly modified bitumen.
