Overview

High elasticity for heavy-traffic pavements

Grade E-70 is a SBS-modified bitumen made by blending penetration-grade bitumen with styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) elastomer. Its penetration is 25 to 55 (0.1 mm at 25°C) and its softening point is 70–85°C.

A higher polymer content than E-40 gives a stiffer, more heat-stable binder that still recovers from deformation. It is a common choice for highway wearing and binder courses.
