What is Bitumen 200/300?
Bitumen 85/35 combines a demanding softening point specification (85–95°C) with a moderate penetration range (30–40 dmm) to deliver a product that is both heat-stable and sufficiently flexible for modern torch-applied roofing membrane systems.
This grade is particularly favoured in hot and tropical climates where flat-roof surface temperatures regularly exceed 70°C, yet the membrane must also resist cold-weather cracking during installation or in variable-climate markets.
The 85/35 designation makes it the preferred oxidized bitumen base for premium APP-modified torch-on membranes that are applied in the Gulf, South Asia, and North Africa. Bridge deck waterproofing systems, which must endure both thermal cycling and mechanical loading from traffic, also frequently specify this grade as the bonding bitumen layer between the concrete deck and asphalt surfacing. Our UAE supply chain ensures globally consistent quality, rapid dispatch, and full technical documentation.
