Graded for 82°C heat and −28°C cold

PG 82-28 is a performance-graded (PG) asphalt binder. The first number is the high pavement temperature in °C where it resists rutting, and the second is the lowest temperature in °C where it resists thermal cracking.

At 82°C it suits extreme heat and the heaviest loads, and at −28°C it suits regions with cold winters. It is typically produced with polymer modification to reach this grade.
