Graded for 76°C heat and −16°C cold

PG 76-16 is a performance-graded (PG) asphalt binder. The first number is the high pavement temperature in °C where it resists rutting, and the second is the lowest temperature in °C where it resists thermal cracking.

At 76°C it suits very hot climates and heavy loads, and at −16°C it suits regions with mild to cool winters. It can usually be met with straight-run or lightly modified bitumen.
