PG 82-10 Performance Grade Bitumen — Premium Rut-Resistant Binder for Extreme-Heat, Mild-Winter Roads

PG 82-10 is a Superpave performance-graded bitumen at the high end of the rutting-resistance scale. The “82” marks the highest seven-day average pavement temperature it withstands without deforming, while the “-10” marks the coldest pavement temperature it resists cracking at.

This grade is reserved for extreme-heat environments — desert highways, ports, and slow-moving heavy-traffic zones like intersections and toll plazas — where standard binders soften and rut under sustained high temperatures and axle loads. The -10°C low-temperature side reflects a climate where deep winter cold isn’t the dominant risk.

Graded to AASHTO M320 / ASTM D6373 Superpave specifications, PG 82-10 gives engineers a binder engineered specifically for sustained high-temperature performance rather than a general-purpose grade.
