Chinese Grade Bitumen (AH50 / AH70 / AH90 / AH110 / AH130) — Reliable Road Construction Binder

Manufactured and exported to consistent penetration-grade standards, our Chinese Grade Bitumen delivers stable performance across hot and cold climates. Trusted by contractors and distributors worldwide for road paving, waterproofing, and industrial applications.

What Is Chinese Grade Bitumen?

Chinese grade bitumen is a penetration-classified binder produced and graded according to Chinese national standards, commonly labeled with an “AH” prefix (e.g., AH-70, AH-90). Like international systems, it’s tested for penetration depth at 25°C, but follows China’s own specification bands, softening points, and ductility requirements.

A lower-numbered grade such as AH-70 is harder and better suited to hot climates and heavy-traffic highways, while a higher-numbered grade like AH-90 is softer and more flexible, performing well in cooler or moderate-temperature regions. The right choice depends on local climate and expected traffic load.

This grading system is widely used by contractors and EPC firms on Chinese-standard projects or exporting to markets specifying Chinese binder classifications. It lets engineers match binder performance to project needs, staying aligned with Chinese specifications rather than European (EN 12591) or American (ASTM D946) standards.

Standards & Grades

We reliably supply high-quality bitumen globally for road construction and industrial projects, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.

Bitumen 等级 AH50

It offers superior structural rigidity and stability for dense traffic conditions and high-temperature paving applications.

Bitumen 等级 AH70

It offers balanced pliability and endurance for general road construction as well as asphalt paving works.

Bitumen 等级 AH90

It is designed for moderate climate conditions, ensuring enhanced workability and endurance against pavement cracking.

Bitumen 等级 AH110

This with gentler consistency, generally suitable for colder climate conditions, requiring enhanced pliability and performance.

Bitumen 等级 AH130

It offers high pliability and ease of application generally for low-temperature and light traffic conditions.

    Frequently Asked Questions.

Black Rock Bitumen supplies Chinese Grade Bitumen suitable for asphalt paving, road maintenance and industrial applications.

Chinese Grade Bitumen is a paving-grade asphalt binder manufactured to Chinese national standards (GB/T), classified by penetration value (e.g., AH50, AH70, AH90, AH110, AH130). Black Rock Bitumen supplies it from Dubai, UAE for road construction, highway surfacing, and infrastructure projects across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

AH50 is the recommended grade for hot climates and high-traffic roads, offering superior structural rigidity and resistance to deformation under heat and load.

Chinese Grade Bitumen follows China's GB/T 15180 classification system, while Penetration Grade Bitumen follows EN 12591 (Europe) or ASTM D946 (US) standards. All three classify bitumen by penetration value, but grade numbering and test methods differ, so equivalent grades aren't always numerically identical.

It's primarily used for asphalt paving, road surfacing, highway construction, airport runways, and general infrastructure projects requiring a durable, weather-resistant binder.

Black Rock Bitumen supplies it in jumbo bags, steel drums, and bulk containers (Bitutainers/Bitubox), shipped globally under standard FOB/CFR terms.

AH50 has the lowest penetration value (40–60) among the standard AH grades, making it the hardest and stiffest. Higher-numbered grades like AH110 and AH130 are softer and more flexible, better suited to cooler climates and lighter traffic.

AH70 sits in the mid-range of the AH series, harder and stiffer than AH90, AH110, and AH130, but softer and more flexible than AH50, making it a versatile choice for general highway pavements.

AH130 has the highest penetration value (120–140) among the standard AH grades, making it the softest and most flexible. Lower-numbered grades like AH50 and AH70 are harder and stiffer, suited for hotter climates and heavier traffic.
