Overview

Soft, workable and suited to cooler climates

AC-2.5 Bitumen is an asphalt cement graded by viscosity at 60°C under ASTM D3381. Grading by viscosity rather than penetration gives a clearer picture of how the binder behaves at paving and service temperatures. The number is the nominal viscosity in hundreds of poise at 60°C (AC-2.5 = about 250 poise).

Its lower viscosity keeps the binder workable at moderate temperatures and helps it coat aggregate and seal surfaces. It suits cooler climates, light traffic and surface treatments.
