    What is CSS-1 Bitumen Emulsion?

    CSS-1 (Cationic Slow Setting – Grade 1) is a low-viscosity bitumen emulsion containing approximately 57% bitumen, designed to allow maximum mixing and penetration before setting.

    Unlike CRS or CMS grades:

    • CSS-1 breaks slowly, allowing deeper absorption
    • Provides uniform coating of fine aggregates
    • Ideal for highly porous and dusty surfaces

    Its slow curing behavior makes it particularly effective in surface preparation and stabilization applications.
