What Is PG 76-22 Performance Grade Bitumen?
PG 76-22 is a Superpave performance-graded bitumen built for a broad operating window — resisting rutting up to 76°C in summer while remaining flexible and crack-resistant down to -22°C in winter. That 98°C span makes it one of the more versatile grades in the PG76 family.
It’s commonly specified for interstate highways, airport pavements, and heavy-haul freight corridors where traffic loading is intense year-round and the climate doesn’t stay mild. Polymer modification improves elastic recovery, reducing rutting and fatigue cracking over the pavement’s service life.
Certified to AASHTO M320 / ASTM D6373 Superpave standards, PG 76-22 gives engineers a dependable mid-range option when a project spans varied climate zones or lacks a narrower, site-specific grade.
