PG 76-34 Performance Grade Bitumen — Heavy-Traffic Binder for Extreme Cold Climates

Engineered for heavy-load expressways and extreme summer pavement heat up to 76°C, PG 76-34 bitumen prevents permanent rutting while providing reliable low-temperature cracking resistance down to −34°C under ASTM standards.

What Is PG 76-34 Performance Grade Bitumen?

PG 76-34 is a Superpave performance-graded bitumen built for a 110°C temperature span — the widest in the PG76 range — resisting rutting up to 76°C while staying flexible and crack-resistant down to -34°C. This span makes it one of the most heavily polymer-modified grades in the lineup.

It’s specified for highways and freight corridors in continental or sub-arctic climates, where hot pavement surfaces in summer and severe sub-zero winters threaten pavement integrity. High polymer content improves elastic recovery and ductility, reducing thermal cracking risk during cold snaps.

Certified to AASHTO M320 / ASTM D6373 Superpave standards, PG 76-34 is the grade of choice when a project’s climate data shows both heavy traffic stress and extreme seasonal cold.

    Frequently Asked Questions.

Our PG 76-34 bitumen is a high-performance polymer-modified binder engineered for extreme heat and cold resistance in heavy-duty pavements.

PG 76-34 is a performance grade (PG) bitumen classified under the Superpave system, engineered to perform at 76°C high temperatures and −34°C low temperatures.

    2. Where is PG 76-34 commonly used?

    It is widely used in:

    • Heavy-traffic highways and expressways

    • Airports and industrial pavements

    • Regions with extreme temperature variations

    • High-stress and high-load asphalt pavements

PG 76-34 offers superior rutting resistance at high temperatures and excellent cracking resistance at very low temperatures, making it suitable for extreme climates.

    • Outstanding resistance to rutting and fatigue

    • Excellent low-temperature crack resistance

    • Enhanced durability under heavy traffic

    • Proven performance in extreme climate conditions

PG 76-34 is typically manufactured to comply with AASHTO M 320 Superpave specifications.
